Private Duty Salary Range in Houston Area?

Specialties Private Duty

Hello everyone,

I am wondering what is the salary range for private duty positions in the Houston area? I am looking into private duty and some applications as for desired salary. Being that I worked in the hospital before I am not sure what the salary range is for private duty nursing.

If anyone could help me out here, I would greatly appreciate it! Also, is it possible to keep up enough shifts to maintain a full time income? Postings tend to state that hours are "flexible' which could mean anything.

Thank you in advance!

You maintain your extended care case hours by accepting a set schedule with a long term client. As long as everyone is satisfied, you can work for the same patient(s) for years.

Do shifts tend to be 8 hour shifts or 12 hour shifts? Or does it just depend? Which does 12 hours shifts, Maxim, Epic, or PSA?

It depends on the case & sometimes what the family wants.

Eight or 12 hour shifts may have a lot to do with the agency's ability to come up with nurses to staff the case. There are some agencies that tend to staff for 12 hr shifts, you can bet your bottom dollar, they are not paying overtime.

Thank you very much this helps a lot for now! I just need a change of pace so I am gonna go for it and do my best! I will be sure to ask more questions if anything comes up!
