The Texas Nursing forum would be a good place to start in asking about Houston area PDNs. Hope this helps!

I have worked for them for over a year. they are ok, and i feel compared to maxim the are better from what i hear. I got on with no hospital experience and they are willing to train you on trach and vents and stuff. my problem with them is that i was told when i was hired they had cases and would staff me in my area, which never happened. they kept me driving an hour away for a case that was hard to staff, i felt that they didn't want to move me closer to home cause it would mean they would have to restaff the harder pt. so as far as that goes, stay on them about what you want if it means that much to you. they will play dumb and blow you off. if you get a good case you love get in good with mom. they tend to fib a little when they have to. I'm mad at them right now so youhave to take my opinion at face value but i'd say besides my staffing issues i was pretty happy for the first year. also they pay you based in the complexity of the pt. so if you don't feel like your getting enough for the work/drive ask for more. and beware, if you are leary of going into bad areas, they like to call you at the end of the day and beg you to take a shift that just came open, to help them out. i never commit to a shift until they send me an address and a pay amount for that shift even if its just for one day. I've had them tell me case was in an area them when i googled it found it to be much worse than they described. if you take it and go you can't leave the kiddo with no one if its a bad situation, so I always do my homework before i commit. please dont mention any of this to them i still work there sometimes : ) pm tho if you have any other questions
