prioritizing nursing Dx

Just wondering if someone can help me prioritize my 5 nursing Dx's this week. I have: Impaired Gas Exchange, Imbalanced Nutrition:less than body requirments, R/F falls, R/F infection and Anxiety. any help would be much appreciated!!

just remember your ABC'S, impaired gas exchange is your top priortiy, and go down from there, imbalanced nutrition is a priority, but there really isn't much you can do for it right now, that is a long term goal. risk for falls is up there on the priority list, because if they fall there will be more of a problem,(injuries) risk for infection can be right after impaired gas exchange because what is the reason for impaired gas extchnge, is it COPD, or any other chronic respiritory disease, they might be on some sort of corticosteroid, which will decrease their immune system, then increase their risk for infection.

Anxiety can be a problem, but if you help with the impaired gas exchange, there will be less anxiety because they can breath easier. I don't know if that helps, there are a lot of other factors in going on, but breathing is a good thing!

it would definitely be impaired gas exchange because airway is the first priority, then breathing, and circulation (ABC). the psychological nursing diagnoses are last because you have to try to fix the physical issues of the patient before you fix his psychological issues.
