:bugeyes:Decreased cardiac output r/t altered heart rhythm

Ineffective breathing pattern r/t depressant effects of anesthesia

Impaired physical mobility r/t limited cardiovascular endurance

Acute pain r/t surgical intervention

Risk for infection r/t invasive procedure

It's me again...........Just wondering about prioritization and how to explain it. Listed above are my current nursing dx's for pacemaker insertion due to 2nd degree heart block......I think I have them in the correct order but if someone doesn't mind looking and giving some input. Thanks so much

I would put pain before impaired mobility, and based on the ABC's of assessment, breathing before circulation the last one is fine because it is a risk for at this point.:twocents:

They are sequenced correctly according to Maslow. Pain is considered a comfort issue with Maslow. Some instructors want it listed first, but not all. Maslow does not consider comfort a priority over oxygen or mobility needs. You would need to clarify with your instructors if they want Pain sequenced before them. However, as I said, according to Maslow, you have sequenced them correctly.
