Prime healthcare hospitals

Specializes in New grad.

New grad who has submitted over 150 applications all over California. Loan payments start in February 😭😭 and just got offered a mother baby position at a prime health hospital in the LA area. It's been over 8 months since I graduated too,  Does anyone have advice or insight on new grad orientation and experience working here 1st year?

Heard about them. I was offered a job and wouldn't take it. I heard the nurses are always on strike at any given Prime hospital due to low pay, low staffing. I mean, take it if it's your only option. You'll learn. See if there is a contract.

I used to work at a Prime facility and I can firmly say I do NOT recommend it. Hilariously, the wikipedia page for Prime is not very flattering.

Did you take the job? Was it St Francis? I was offered a job there too and not sure if I should do it. I've done tons of searching about the area and hospital. Obviously a lot of bad reviews. I'm worried about it being in a dangerous area and about the hospital.

I was also offered a position at a Prime hospital in LA, they barely interviewed me and immediately offered me a position. I decided not to take it because they told me that it would be highly likely that I would be trained by someone with only months of experience and that my only training would be precepting for 5 weeks.

I was offered 2 weeks of "shadow shifts" and then was asked to start seeing patients on the second day I was there. 😂 IDK how you got 5 whole weeks LOL

But yeah. Prime's wikipedia page speaks for itself. You might have made a license-saving choice by turning down the job there.

But yeah. I wish I had taken a different job. Definitely would not go there again. Prime's wikipedia page speaks for itself.

TWO WEEKS is WILDDDDD. I need to go check out this Wikipedia page now. 😂😂💀 I hope you're somewhere now that is safe and that you enjoy!!

@Beepollenacai did you take the job? I'm a new grad waiting for ATT and I wanted to apply. Do they really offer a starting rate of $39/hr?
