Pricked with a dirty needle

While at work today, I was doing diabetic accu checks, and had to administer insulin. After administering the insulin, I accidently pricked myself with the dirty needle. I bled very little, but none the less it broke skin. I went to a clinic near by right after it happened, and being it was a workman's comp issue everything was payed for.

HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE ELES?:aln: I am taking combivir twice daily. The person involved will have to screen for Hep c and HIV in order for me to get off this medication sooner.

I have been pricked a few times but there was no exposure protocol in the hospital where I am working pertaining to needle pricks. So after I have been pricked, i did nothing. I just paid myself to get a Hep B Quali result. Fortunately, it was negative. What I worry is about contracting hep C. haven't tested for hep c since... and there is no vaccination for it.. also, i haven't taken any prophylaxis every time i was pricked... i am really worried coz i just pricked myself the other day..:-(

I feel so bad for you. Please get help. Where do you work? That is a workmans comp issue and every facility should have one in place.
