I am a graduate of BSN in the PI batch 2010, recently took my NCLEX RN for board of hawaii and luckily passed it! The preparation itself was tough, studying during free time at work (11-7) then going straight to review which is 9-6:30 at america healthways education. Oh I thank God for them, they helped me a lot towards reaching my goals. Went to them for my preparations for NCLEX-PN here in Cali back in 2011 and finally got my ATT in 2012, took the test and passed, I worked and got sidetracked got too overwhelmed with new job, making my own money, being able to help family and just being independent. But in 2013 of December my job got tougher and my dad got sick which opened my eyes and hit my head real hard. I suddenly said to myself "hey what are you doing you're a BSN graduate and seems like you're settling as an LVN" I have forgotten my goal for a while so I asked for my instructor's wife and friend's advice to which state I should go to that processes your documents fast and where I can do my reciprocity after getting some experience.. Aaaaand they said Hawaii (in my head i was like... T_T i don't know anybody in Hawaii but wth let's do this!! :) ) I applied and got my eligibility in march and started going to review on june 2014. I repeatedly read the books America healthways provided for us (it's like my bible) there's one thick book broken down per system and area (peds, maternity, psych, medsurg and other topics like nutrition, blood and blood products, pharmacology, triaging, etc etc etc) and bullets which consists of same topics but in simpler context I used it after reading the whole thick book, it has 2 columns on the left side it has the question type of statements and right side are the answers so its perfect for reviewing what you've learned from the thick one, helped for retention of important topics. And for Q&A I used the prioritization and delegation book my La Charity 3rd edition, some from Saunders and past tests given to us in review. October 9th I took the test and booooom! Aloha RN! :) The keys are hardwork (big time), support system (family, friends, loved ones) aaaaaand prayers (thank you Lord, thank you daddy, i know you were there with me when i was taking the test. Iloveyou forever). For future takers just keep going! You're almost there! God bless you all and goodluck.. fight! :)
