Nurses Career Support

Sorry to those that may be offended, but Im just starting college for nursing, and my girlfriend and i are thinking about kids maybe my jr year and i just would like input on it because she wants me to be the the one to have our baby. I really want to but i know that year will be hard and i just cant decide what i want to do

If you are just starting college, why don't you see how it goes and if you can handle college easily? You've got 2 years to make a decision on this. If you find college quite manageable and feel you can handle having a baby your junior year, go for it! Some nursing students do get pregnant and do just fine. However, having a newborn baby is a lot of work. My advice would be to put off having a baby until you have finished nursing school. At any rate, I would not decide on this now - wait until you finish your freshman year of college at least before making this decision.

Okay thank you so much!

My advice would definitely be to wait. Nursing school is a lot of work and focus and it gets harder with more clinicals and hours spent at the hospital, so it would be wise to wait and see how it goes for you. I would, without a doubt, wait until you are settled into a job and stable before thinking about the future. As the previous poster said, you have two years to decide so wait and see how nursing school goes first. You guys are still very young with plenty of time so wait until you both have jobs and are able to support a family.
