Preceptorship in SF Bay Area

Published

Hi everyone. I need some advice about preceptorship. I need to pick a place for my preceptorship and I don't know where. I am in SF bay area.

I am in the process of looking for a place to do my last semester preceptorship and would like some input about the hospitals and the unit. I am going towards ER or MedSurg. Also, I heard that these two areas are the best in regards to preparing for the NCLEX.

Can you please tell me about your experience about the hospital, and the unit in the SF bay area? Any input would really help me out.

Thank you in advance!!!!!

Hello,

I would highly recommend SF General Hospital for the great experiene that you would gain as a preceptor there. I spent the majority of nursing school working there. There are great nurses to learn from and if u are looking for a rewarding experience you will work with a variety of different people including the underserved and homeless. My experience there totally changed my outlook on county hospitals, the nursing care is as good if not better than any other hospital. It is the main trauma center in the SF bay.

If working at an exciting trauma center is not for you, I would recommend CPMC. Also a good hospital. But I still prefer General.

Hope that helps...Good luck!!
