  1. Good news!!! I know that all of you have been waiting to see if they started to contacting for interviews... so I just received a call at 1pm from the hiring manager of VA Palo Alto Long Term Care. She said that there are only two spots and that she just started to call to set up interviews. If you did not put Long Term Care as one of your preferences, then you will not get a call. I turned it down because I already accepted a full time position that is starting Aug 3. Good luck to everyone!!!!
  2. That is great that she is having a wonderful time in the ER. I believe that there are only 10 spots for this application period. This is way more competitive that applying for nursing school . Yes, please do ask your friend about the interview process. I greatly appreciate any help because like many on this forum, I do not know any nurses.
  3. hmm... I think the orientation for this application period starts in the Fall. Your friend might of been accepted to the Spring application period. Congrats to him!! Can you ask him what kind of interview he went through (panel, group, individual)? What kind of questions? and which unit he was accepted in? Thank you in advance!
  4. vicky3269 I think you are right. I don't think that you can apply if you have been working as a RN already. I remember reading that somewhere on the application.
  5. The recruiters told me that they will group the applications according to preference. However, if there is no vacancy in the area that you chose, they will group you with your second choice and so fourth. Good Luck everyone and remember to keep us updated with any response from them! :)
  6. Hi. I've applied as well but have not heard anything yet. The recruiter says that they are reviewing it and forwarding it to the hiring managers. We should be hearing back from them one to two weeks. What were your top three picks? Mine were Med/ Surg, ER, and ICU....Please update once you hear from them.
  7. Geeze I am really scared now about getting into a new grad program. First, it was really hard to get into nursing school and now it will be even harder to get a job? I will still keep on going.... :). Can we make a posting that indicates the start date and deadlines for the new grad programs in the bay area hospitals? I think that will be very helpful to us all. I would start but I do not have any information as of today. If I get the information I will post it up.
  8. thank you for your tips!!
