Fellow nursing students I have ran into an issue and need some assistance. I was on the right track to applying for the LPN Program at my community college until I got in a car accident which put me in the ER all day and cause me to miss my biology lecture and lab. Long story short they would not excuse my absences so I had to withdraw. The deadline for LPN applications is before the Spring 2015 class end date which is May 2nd. I am trying to find an accredited online school that has a general biology class that will transfer. Any ideas or suggestions.

1. I'm surprised you were forced to withdraw. Usually a missed lab and lecture while certainly damaging to final score in the class are not enough to be kicked out.
2. I doubt you will find a 100% online class for bio, and if you did that it would transfer as there is need for a lab component. However some community colleges will offer a hybrid program, where all lecture and assignments are done online and students attend lab on campus once per week. You may see if any of the schools in your area do this.
3. Look into quarter system schools, if you can take biology winter quarter you will likely be done before the deadline. Most of the time winter quarter runs January-March.
4. Verify program requirements, many times you are allowed to still apply and be conditionally accepted to programs if prereqs are "in progress" at the time of application, provided all prereqs will be completed before the actual start date of the program.
5. Just as a friendly suggestion, you may not want to use a picture of yourself as your avatar, particularly if your username is your real name. This is a public board that schools and prospective employers can search freely. Use caution.
Thank you for the tips and suggestion I will look into it. I have been looking online for months now but I hope something will pop up that I haven't thought of.
