Hello everyone, I am new to this website although I have always come in the past to look for advice regarding the nursing journey, this my first post. I currently attend BMCC in Manhattan and I hope to apply to their program as well as a few others my other option is Cocharan School of Nursing. I am a bit worried because I recieved a C+ for Anatomy and Physiology 1, I started off shaky, then did well on two other exams but i bombed my final. I had a rough week during my final and i belived it hurt my performance in the test, but I know one should just suck it up and get it done. So far my perequisites will be looking like this:
english B+ (considering I had 4 diff teachers during the semester)
math 104 A-
psychology( expected to get an A)
bio C+
for my other classes I have taken I earned:
speech- A
english 102- A
chemistry 101- A-
Do you guys think I have a shot at the program? I am already studying for the kaplan and I am taking Bio 2 in the Summer.
Thank you guys!

I'm also looking at cochran, for Spring 2018 start. I'm currently at Lehman College, finishing up pre-reqs. I'm taking Nutrition over the summer and Chemistry in the fall. What exactly is Math 104? I don't recall them requiring any sort of "math" pre-req, maybe its a requirement if you're doing BSN, I don't know.
Like you, I also have a C+ in A&P 1. I have B in A&P 2, B+ in Micro, and A in pretty much everything else they require.
They told me personally, when I called, that C+ or above is fine.
Thank you for your response, I hope that we both get in. I really like that they don't just base their acceptance on 4 classes like BMCC. Math 104 is Dosage and Calculations, they don't require it at Cochran, only in BMCC. Wish all the best!
Thanks YAS. Same to you :) tell me, i was actually thinking of putting in for BMCC as well as a back up. Do you think its worth the trouble in my case or should i just stick to private for now like cochran and montefiore?
I don't think I would hurt if you tried, they are highly competitive they require A's in all classes to get it, which are A&P 1,English 1,Math 104 and Psychology but I believe not everyone has gotten in with only A's, another factor is your Kaplan Test score. At the end of the day its good to have options, CUNY's are very selective because they have a big pool of applicants for their programs. I personally prefer private programs like the ones you mentioned, just my preference. Again if you would like to apply, go for it what can u possible lose.
