Haven't even started prerequisites yet, can I still smoke weed?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I just went to orientation for nursing, and I haven't even taken my prerequisites yet. I have to take a year of prerequisites. When I start clinicals, will I even be tested? Or will I not be tested until I apply for a job/get a job? I've been really stressed lately and I've been thinking of smoking again. I stopped because I didn't know if I would have the prerequisites or if I was going to community college, where my local one you get right into nursing. And I didn't want to endanger anyone or test positive for drugs. Help!?

I honestly don't know why you even asked this question... It's pretty rhetorical. Although I do know quite a few pre-health majors at my university who smoke cigarettes and/or weed and some do drugs, the fact that they do those things, even if they manage to get good grades, is not good. It's unnecessary and not good for your health. May I suggest working out, listening to music, or playing video games as an alternative? I do those things in addition to dance, sing, and shop when I am stressed out. And the occasional glass of wine. ;)

But really... dunno why you asked this. ;-; Best of luck to you though.

Like the previous posts have stated it is very unprofessional and I would not want someone under influence working with my kids or any other family member. Smh no it's time to grow up and deal with life. I have anxiety and won't even smoke cigarettes or drink a beer to deal with it caus than how will I manage as a nurse on a 12 hour shift???

And I didn't want to endanger anyone

These two statements state that you need to speak to someone in real life about your issues. The last statement does seem to be honest and sincere, "didn't want to endanger anyone". You seem to be honest about this concern and it speaks volumes that you need help because you are fearful that you could hurt someone. Since we cannot give you medical and/or legal advice, you'll have to do that elsewhere.
