Am I too old??

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

I am a 45 year old who feels compelled to finally live out my dream of becoming a nurse. Am I too old/crazy to even think I can achieve this? I already have a bachelor's degree so would you recommend going straight for a BSN or my RN? I appreciate any advice anyone can give. Thanks so much!

YOU ARE ACTUALLY TOO YOUNG!!I hope you knew you were not that old at 45 to even seek a second opinion, but hehe!, i'm not trying to judge you or anything. The oldest lady in my class was 59, not only that, she and her husband at one time owned a multiBillion dollar manufacturing company employing more than 2000 worker before something unimaginable happened(not devorce but company bankrupcy). I thought she was just telling me stories so i said if her story was true, then i will expect to see something on the internet about their company, so i tried and lol, there she was (her Picture) with the story about how she and her husband fell from glory. till this day i could not understand why they did not save enought for retirement under the circumstances and for her to return to school. So the answer is no, i are too young TO BE PRECISE..

I am also 45 with a bachelor's degree and turning to nursing. You are definitely not too old. When I got to my first microbiology class this morning, I thought I would be so old . . . turns out there were only a couple people under 30 in the class!

Go for it! I think the maturity that we bring will benefit us in nursing!

You are never too old! As long as you have the passion and drive to obtain your dream anything is possible! You have more life experiences which would be beneficial to you during nursing school. I think which ever degree is fastest should be the route you should take since nowadays it is so competitive to get into nursing school. Definitely go for it!

I just graduated from nursing school and I am 40. There were a handful of students over your age. You are the only one who can determine if it is right for you. I would look at an ADN program because it will get you on the floor quickest.
