Sorry, I am not sure if i'm in the right forum, but I have a question that's really worrying me.So I accepted a job as a CNA at a nursing home and am able to go in for my pre-employment physical any time I want by Wednesday. However I am on two medicines that might concern the facility.
I am diagnosed with panic disorder and am prescribed klonopin 3x daily. I take it exactly as directed, it doesn't make me loopy or anything, but I think it's a controlled substance?
I also currently have an impacted wisdom tooth and my oral surgeon prescribed me percocet while I wait for my surgery on March 13th. I know that will raise a red flag with them.
My question is even if I list these medications during my physical will they not hire me? I do not abuse them, nor do I take them during work at my current job. And if I do need to "hide" it, how long should the drugs take to leave my urine? i am just concerned I will not be hired because of my health conditions. Also, should I bring my scripts as proof?

I believe if you take the prescriptions with you to the physical you'll be ok. If you don't disclose them and if you get chosen for a random drug screen or have an injury or incident on the job requiring a drug screen you'll be fired.
That's about what I thought, I can provide extensive proof for both medications, and I would never, ever take the painkillers on the job... that is just dangerous and selfish IMO. I'm just worried they employers will be like "New hire on opiates? Nope."
(I live on Cape Cod, the opiate crisis is VERY severe here)

As long as they are legitimate prescriptions and you're under a physicians care, they shouldn't be a problem. Bring the prescription bottles with you just in case you have to give a drug screen and they want proof that they are prescribed medications since they are both controlled substances.
