Pre-BSN Army RN Commissioning.

Published

I was lurking through the GoArmy website & stumbled upon this educational track that they offer. Basically you sign on pre-graduation of completing your BSN. You get a $5K sign on, then $1K stipend for up to 24 months. When you graduate you get another $5K & go on to become a commissioned officer. I've asked recruiters about this & they all look so lost, like I'm speaking German. I just want to more details about it. When I should apply, how long does it take to get paperwork in order etc, & if its even still available. Also, once you are finished are you eligible for the other sign on bonuses for being an RN?

Any answers would be a huge help! Thanks!

It's called the Army Nurse Candidate Program. I've been told that they aren't accepting applicants for 2013 or 2014 due to funding.

Also, you would need to talk to a Healthcare Recruiter. The other guys wouldn't know what you're talking about. It's for your junior and senior years in nursing school. You won't be eligible for other bonuses when you do get commissioned because they just spent money on you. I hope that helps.
