practice without physician involvement?

does anyone know any data about which states nps can practice in without any direct physician involvement? i find sites that have all different answers and have looked everywhere. help!!!!! :confused:

I haven't "bashed" anyone. As a a member of a profession, I have every right to be its critic. You may think that there are no probems within the NP profession, but I see it differently. I don't agree with you or a lot of my colleagues when it comes to nursing big push for independent practice. We are not as well educated as physicians and should not be practicing without one in direct collaboration. This is at the heart of what I feel is wrong with our profession, not enough of a medical based education for the care we are providing and seeking to provide in a more independent manner.
