PPD test question

Hi everyone. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this. I am still learning my way around these boards so forgive me if it isn't, but I have a question about my ppd test. I currently work in LTC and I went to work today to receive my ppd test. By the time I walked out to my car, my forearm had a rash all over it and was incredibly itchy. I went back inside and was simply told to come back and show them on Wednesday. I have never had a positive ppd test and I am wondering if this could possibly count as a positive reaction even though it is early or if there is something else going on. The itching and rash is doing better than it was but I am curious if others have had a similar reaction to the test and whether theirs was considered positive or negative.

Thanks in advance.

we cannot advise of course but I would 1) wait till Wednesday or 2) if really alarmed, go see a medical professional.

Hi!

We cannot give, nor seek, medical advice as per the Terms of service. If you are concerned please contact your PCP or go to your emergency department. It is possible to have an allergic reaction to the PPD. If at any time you develop difficulty breathing please go to your local emergency department. A positive reaction is the measurement of induration (raised area) and NOT the redness and irritation.

You can go to the CDC website for further information. Thread closed.
