Hi Everyone!
I am in the process of applying for an OR Internship Program for New Grads. I have made it past the personality screening and submitted my references. My next step is a phone interview with HR and then from there I will have a face to face interview with 3 OR nurses.
I am a new grad with no experience. I was wondering first of all:
For all of you experienced OR nurses, if you were asked to interview a new grad what would you ask?
For all you new grads, what kind of questions were you asked in your OR interview?
Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

I was asked using 3 words to describe myself and if asked by my former manager what 3 words will they use to describe me. What is my 5 year goal, they wanna make sure you are not just gonna get the training and hit the road, so keep that in mind when responding. I was asked what would I do to get my co workers involved if I seen I was the only one doing work with others standing around. I was asked to give some history about my experience/ self. Hope this helps.

I was asked things like, What are your strenghths? Can you give an example of a time when you had to deal with conflict and how you resolved it? What is one of your weaknesses? Can you give an example of a not so ideal condition you had to work in and how did you handle that situation? Why should we hire you in the OR over everyone else with or without experience?
Oh one more.... How do you deal with different personalities? Difficult ones in particular?
Thanks!! This gives me a good starting point. I will start reviewing questions in my head. I am sure these will help so I am not caught off guard. Wish me luck!!!
