I've been a nurse for 4 years but am new to critical care. When I was orienting today, the nurse told me not to check residuals for a post-pyloric tube feed, which I know is true...my question is, how do I check to see if the patient is tolerating the feedings?

If a patient isn't tolerating feeds, you'll probably notice nausea and/or vomiting, abdominal pain and/or gastric distention.
