Hello to all, I recently passed my Nclex exam in the state of Virginia (yes I was aware of the clinical hours), however i was under the impression clinical hours can be done in one single setting alone. I am now having a hard time obtaining those clinical hours through any hospital since they are not very well educated with the " RN provisional license" and everything it entails. My question is:
HAS ANYONE ON THIS FORUM GONE THROUGH THIS BEFORE AND WHAT ARE THE OPTIONS?
IS THERE ANYONE HERE THAT IS CERTIFIED TO BE A NURSING PRECEPTOR IN ANY CLINICAL AREA?
EARLY THANKS .

I am sorry to say the only mention of Virginia and precepted hours I've seen here are people in your position: wondering how/where to get it done. No one has come back to report success. If you are on Facebook, you might try the "Excelsior Nursing" group, it has 5500+ members and you might find someone who has done it or has ideas. Good luck!
Thank you very much, I have done my research on the topic. Pretty much I can apply at the VA and take a residency position or I can pay out of pocket and find a preceptor that is out of state that is willing to do it. It's suck, cause a Riverside hospital in Virginia was willing to do it, however NCLEX passing rate for excelsior prOgram was less than 78% is 5 years span. I'll be working on it and I'll keep everyone updated.
