Post-Masters Acute Care Cert

Any advice on the most expedient/cost-effective PMC in Adult Acute Care? I'm a CCU nurse finishing a primary care adult program looking for a good acute care program so that I can bridge my knowledge into the provider role for an ICU. I have found plenty, but most tend to be almost as long as the MSN programs themselves.

Thoughts? Advice? Thanks!

NP certificate programs are long because given the amount of material covered, you will need much time to become competent. Even when you complete the program, you will still feel unprepared for the task of practicing. Don't worry about the length of the program. Find one that you like and work hard at it.

It was humbling for me when I started my NP post masters certificate because unlike my classmates, I already had a masters degree. The workload and the vast amounts of material quickly made me thankful that I had a whole 2 years to get it down.

At my school right now there are 4 post-masters students doing acute care. They seem just as frazzled, overwhelmed and tired as those of us doing acute care original masters. I think their program is like a year and a half. So- Based off their appearance- I'd say that was plenty fast and that doing it much faster might not be very practical.
