Hello nurses and those alike! I was wondering what yall thought about an MSN/MBA masters program? what would be the benefit?
Thanks, I would love to hear from those that have done it and those that dont and still have an opinion. Negative and positive, thanks

I think it is a much better option than just getting an MBA by itself. I've worked with some nursing administrators with MBA's - but no advanced education in nursing - and they seem lacking in the nursing department. They know the business side of things, but nothing about nursing at the advanced level. If you are at all interested in the MBA, I would highly recommend you do an MSN/MBA combo program rather than just get the MBA.

I started an MSN/MBA program in 2004 but then dropped the MBA part because it was sooooo boring. Am still kicking myself all these years later....the combo gives you the benefit of advanced nursing education as well as an advanced business degree - both extremely important in today's world.
Thank you for the replies!
