positioning in the icu

i'm italian. i looked in pub med but I colouldn't find anything about the positioning and the mobility in the icu.

May be I couldn't find anything beacause my english is orrible...

please help me!

You'll surely find the answer to that question if you post it in the ICU board located under the specialty flag at the top of your screen...

If you are talking about positioning the patient in the bed, it is every two hours, ordinarily supine, right side, supine, left side, supine etc., unless the patient has open areas and that plan may be altered. For instance, for a patient with an open area on his/her coccyx, they may be turned from side to side and not left on their back at all.

If they are on a vent, with at least a semi stable Blood pressure, no IABP or femoral hemodialysis going on we always keep the head up a minumim of 30 degrees. Turn side to side every two hours. Patients with vent also get continuous rotation module in a special rotation bed from Hillrom.
