Dear allnurses
I am probably repeating this subject but I just join the site and I am completely lost.
I am portuguese, took my degree in Portugal, with 12 years experience and now currently in Norway. I am a single mother and my son has got dual citizenship...I am thinking about moving to the USA, Ohio, mostly Cleveland, since my ex in laws are there and they would be able to help...now!!! about NCLEX...what I heard is that I need a SSN to even register for the exam, and I guess you get that with green card or visa...How do foreigner nurses do nowadays?DO I have wrong information?
Is there a possibility to do the exam without that number?
Guidance please!
TIA
BTW, amazing good information flowing in here

suggest checking out the BON website. Some states will issue a hard copy of license and others will not without US SSN.
Will you be looking for sponsor?
This is the first first first beginning of my process...I will look into all possibilities...sponsorship means an employer to sponsor me visawise?
forgive me if I sound dum...
yes but if your son is dual, depending on his age he may be able to sponsor you. Ideally I would get registration sorted first
