Hello Florida nurses.

My mom is planning to move to Florida for the weather since she has arthritis. I'm moving with her to care for her. I read in previous posts that the salary are horrible down there. Is that still the case? How much is it now for hospital nurse versus in an outpatient setting? I'm in NP school right now so besides the pay to help with housing but also tuition so I'm curious what salary would be like. I'm not making much right now compared to others in my state so I'm not hoping for $40/hr or anything like that. I'm making 30 right now as a day shift nurse with some extra pay to be charge and precepting.  The nurse to patient ratio here is 5:1 or 6:1. Any information would be appreciated. And where would I go to check on hurricane/flooding effects? She wants to live an area with less hurricane or at least with less impact compared to places like east coast. Thanks for any information coming my way.
