hi everyone

Recently someone I know has come to me for advice on his wife's PCOS knowing im a nurse. However it isnt my area, and I have no idea about the condition. So I was wondering if anyone else can help?

His wife was put on contraceptive pills, but now for various reasons has stopped, I was wondering if there are any alternative treatments to explore, apparantly those people that he has seen have been less than helpful.

Thanks

I have been reading some things on the net about homeopathic remedies to curb some of the symptoms. I have also been seeing an acupuncturist for almost a year now.

It can be an awful time. An aunt of mine was fine after she had a hysterectomy and went on hormone replacement.

Sorry I can't be more useful except to commisserate.(sp?)

I'm sorry, but medical advice is beyond the scope of nursing practice. A relatively anonymous Internet message board is not really the proper place to seek answers, anyway; rather, your friend and his wife need to find a qualified physician, preferably an OB-GYN, and if not satisfied with his/her answers, to keep looking.

Thank you for your understanding.
