Police check - registration new nurse

Published

Hellow friends,

this question may sound stupid to some but please bear with me because I am confused. I just received my results with registration papers, that mention police check?? Can someone please send me a link where I can get the form?? I am assuming there will be different kind. Some are 60$ and some 20$ . My friends did police check for student but we are not students anymore so I don't mind paying more but I want to get it right .police check itself takes a month or so , I don't want to send a wrong police check and hamper my job options . Can someone and anyone help me please???

Thank you

What city are you in? In most places now you can get a police check same day. All of mine have been within minutes. You have to go to the police station and fill out a form there. They will advise you of which form you need.

Depends where you live.

If you're referring to the CNO it's the Clearance Letter that you need. This is about $20 with Toronto Police Service.

Once you find a job the employer may request the Vulerable Sector Check which is $60.

For registration process, CNO only requires a name-based check (based on your name and birth date). I went to my nearest police headquarters and was asked to fill up an Clearance Letter Authorization but was not able submit the form because I didn't have a second piece of ID with full name and date of birth on it. The reception just told me to apply online which I did when I got home.

Online: www.torontopolice.on.ca and look for the link Clearance Letter.

You can also apply online: Toronto Police Service :: To Serve and Protect and look for the link Clearance Letter. It costs $24.67 the College recommends you to get 2 original copies. Takes 15 days to process.
