I'm interested in PNP or FNP after I finish my BSN. I'm curious, is PNP more competitive for admissions than FNP? There seems to be a lot more interest/discussion with FNP. I understand that there are more FNP programs and it offers more flexibility but I feel that PNP training may better prepare you for practice because all of the required clinical hours are focused on pediatrics. Maybe I'm wrong but my thinking is that PNP is more competitive because of the fewer programs available.

It really depends on the specific program. There is no one size fits all answer.
