Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia

i am a bit confused. Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia is casued by

yeast-like fungus Pneumocystis jirovecii, however the treatment includes antibiotics. i always thought antibiotics only treated bacteria, not fungus.

Its classified as anti-infective/antiprotozoal in my Davis Drug Guide. This does a good job of explaining how TMP-SMX works. Apparently antifungals don't work on PCP.
