PNAP and wasting

Nurses Recovery

Published

Just started PNAP which is the Pennsylvania nurse peer assistance program for diverting and alcoholism. Got help, following all recommendations etc. I just landed a position at a SNF. My contract only says I can not administer narcotics for 6 months. That is it. Some days it may be another nurse and myself. Can I waste with another nurse? My contract doesn't address this at all. Also it says a supervisor must be in the building when I am working. Can this be the charge nurse. Again, its not very clear. Just looking to see if anyone has any answers. Thanks!

See my post on the other thread where you had this question. Expanding on that, make these people be crystal clear on what you are required to do for the duration of this thing. They wrote it and if it is your responsibility to follow it precisely then it is thier responsibility to make those requirements clear and unambiguous.

From a person that is thankfully on the downhill run of this nightmare, the voice of experience here is saying DO NOT try to interpret this stuff your self. It will not end well. Ask your case manager and ask until you clearly understand. That is what they get a paycheck for.
