So ladies and gents,

Interviewing at a nice outpatient mental health center. I precepted here. Haven't finalized things yet, but they are going to get me close to my asking salary of 110k.

They are only offering one week of paid vacation, in addition to 8 or 9 paid holidays, which she emphasized, will make it about 14 paid days the first year. In my opinion, holidays shouldn't be used as barter for vacation time. I feel 2 to 3 weeks is more reasonable. I feel like I'm getting low balled.

Also, 2 to 3 ceu days but not money to pay for training.

Any thoughts? Advice?

Little Rock, AR market

Thanks,

Ry

1 week? That’s terrible! Most RNs get at least 2 weeks. Definitively negotiate more. I work in patient on the west coast and get 5 weeks vacation (admittedly 1.5 weeks of that is holiday) and 2 weeks sick

I work on the west coast - as a part-timer (pro-rated benefits) I still get 3 weeks vacation + 3 days CME time (and $1500 to pay for it) + 2 weeks sick leave + 24 hours "personal business time" + 10 holidays a year -- additionally any local CME offered by our hospital or community affiliates counts as "worked" time at usual pay rate and doesn't count against CME time or money.

I'd definitely push for more time off - having space to care for yourself is important!
