Plus size scrubs that are CUTE!!!!!!

Nurses Uniform/Gear

Published

Hi Everyone!!!!!

I am a new RN and just starting my first job... of all places in the ED! Our dress code says solid bottoms and tops can be print or solid. I work with girls that are a little more on the.... uhhhh... fit side than myself. I am a plus size gal (size 22-24 usually) that is also on the tall side (6')... finding scrubs that dont make me feel and pretty much look like a beached whale have been difficult to find. I tend to carry most of my weight around my mid section and certainly dont have the chest to balance out so I often have a problem with the scrubs hanging and I have to wear a tank top under my tops... I know that I shouldnt worry about how i look at work... and that my patients come first... but...geesh... with as much time as I am at work I would at least like to a little better...

Does anyone have any sugggestions?

I feel ya girl. I'm tallish and a big girl too and I do NOT like some of the pants that come in my size...they're frumpy and I am NOT frumpy. I like Landau for Her...they come in plus sizes and up to 3X in tall. I like the cherokee flexibles. They might be short for you though. I'm 5'8" and they're onlyjust long enough for me. 31" inseam. I SO wish Urbane made one or two sizes bigger and about 4 inches longer...I'd be so happy!

First of all...CONGRATS on your new job! :D I totally feel you about the uniform situation!!! It takes me hours in the scrub store to find a perfect pair of pants!!! ahhh....with that said, I've tried the Baby Phat pants style # 26050 to be very nice and they don't make me look frumpy! As for tops, I like the Izzy tops as well as Peaches. Hope that helps!!

Thanks for the help! I will check these out... I found a couple of cute Dickies tops that arent just the standard unisex v-neck that arent too bad... now the hard part is finding these locally since I really do not want to go through ordering them online until I know how they fit! Once I know something will work then ordering online for color, etc isnt that big a deal!!!

Off to do some scrub searching :)

I am a 18/20 and 5'8", so I hear you about feeling frumpy. I've found that the Cherokee Flexibles are so comfortable! They have spandex side panels, so they conform to my shape instead of hanging straight from my chest. The pants have a really wide, soft waistband, too.

Tafford Scrubs

Uniforms and scrubs (I like the Landau sports team scrubs in pink :))

Lydia's (I love the Koi scrubs-- however, I am a size too large for them)

Dickies (I love the Y-necked with self piping in bright colors in the W line-- I have corral, purple, and yellow. I always get compliments when I wear them!)

I am a plus size girl all the way. I wear anything from a size 24 to a 26 and wear a 42DDD.

I think all of these uniforms flatter my curvy figure and I don't feel uncomfortable in them at all.

Stay away from Cherokee! They make their shirts way too short and don't cover the junk in my trunk!

I too am a small busted 22-24 sized RN. I honestly think I have found some great scrubs that are young, girly and even fashionable. I pride myself on my scrubs so I hope this helps.

  • Flexibles are amazing! The new tops from the line are made with a key-hole neck line so they don't hang too low or billow out which is an issue for us gals with small busts.
  • Dickie's W line has some cute options such as the charcoal and pink contrasting trip top
  • For prints I think that Cherokee's HQ line is the best
  • Koi has recently added 3X to their line and they are perfect for girls like us with small busts because they are a junior fit
  • Urbane scrubs has 3X in select styles as of August I believe

Hope this helped!

I have to agree that the Dickies W line is my favorite for women of all sizes. I have to say that the color choices for tall people could be a little more interesting though. I really like thier flat front boot cut pants in the W line and the y top :)

Wow...I'm bookmarking this posting!

But...any ideas on styles/brands to look at for pinning dresses? I'm getting bummed out looking at cute ones that only go up to 1x and ugly frumps that go to 7x. :(

Also....any of you find a shoe that works for you? It seems like no matter what kind I get (clog, tennis shoe, etc) in any brand, my feet and legs still kill me each day. I've tried support knee-highs, thinking that was the problem, too....

...any info is greatly appreciated!

I am also a large woman who loves fun scrubs. I found a great website that makes custom scrubs any size and has great fabrics to choose from, check it out--youniquescrubs.com. They are reasonable also.

Late reply again, but I just discovered Tafford. SO MANY CUTE scrubs in plus (and all other) sizes, and super fast shipping.
