Please, urgent advice needed!Metro State University or University of Iowa

Hi everyone,

I'm currently in need of 'urgent' advices in order to make an informed decision. Here is my scenario: I'm currently living in Minnesota(Twin cities) with my family, accepted at both University of Iowa MSN:CLN (ELMSN) and Metro State University ELMSN accelerated program. Both programs start Jan 2011, btw, registration started for the spring semester in IOWA yesterday. Should I based my decision on cost & ( yeah metro is way cheaper compared to Iowa) or on name recognition(yeah Iowa is more recognized nationally)? I've read from different posts where people said RN is RN as long as one passes the board, but in this weird economy where employers are looking at 'everything' before they select from the multitude of job seekers, I'm having this feeling that name recognition might just do the magic at that point( f course I may be wrong). Please, I would need urgent advice as regards which of the two programs I should go for. Btw, I had already accepted both offers but I need to call either of the school latest tomorrow to tell them I won't be coming after all, so they can fill my position with another reserved applicant. Thanks for your anticipated responses.

I'm biased, but I think the U of I offers an education that is hard to match. Obviously, if you decide you want to stay in Iowa particularly the Iowa City/Cedar Rapids area a degree from the U of I will mean that much more. But as I said, I am biased. They have amazing cases that come to the hospital that you might not get to see anywhere else.

How much will it cost you to move? That's another huge consideration.
