hi everyone,im actually asking on behalf on my mom who i would really like to move over here (CA) with me. the situation and id really like your input on this--what to do, alternatives, and whatnot:my mom's been a nurse in TX for over 15yrs and before that she worked in NJ (which is where she got her first RN license coming from Phils). now, she's thinking about moving to CA with me and my family (which would be great!). ive looked at the CA BON website and i understand the steps she needs to take, but i was wondering about their transcript requirement. i dont know how long it would take for my mom's alma mater to send her transcript over to CA BON, but can she get a temporary license before they receive it? how long would the process take? ive got other questions, but i cant remember them now.please help. any input, advice, recommendations would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance. salamat po. )

Oct 26, 2011 Your mom can get a Temporary License in CA but it is only issued on a walk-through basis. That means the applicant needs to be present at the Board of Registered Nursing office in Sacramento to file for the Temporary License. The board requires that the applicant already passed both the fingerprint and license verification requirements. For details see: http://www.rn.ca.gov/pdfs/applicants/tlcounter.pdf
