on my own now man, and oh Lord! Did our little city blow itself up? Did anyone else's ER experience a bad weekend? I think I did ok though, but will need a new pair of shoes as my feet are rebelling against me today. I mean they may actually mutiny against me and not carry me into work next week lol.
Thank you God, no one became more seriously ill or died that I was taking care of, and most left better than when they came to me. So I think that was a successful weekend.
I just wasn't expecting to be on my own this weekend. There was no warning, not that I couldn't handle it, but I was reading the room assignment realizing they gave me my own assignment. Kind of a thrilling and sinking feeling all at the same time.
Ok, had to get that off my chest. I'll have to go put these tired pups to bed now (yeah its Monday but I'm still recovering lol)

Gratz you did it!! You will do fine. Just remember to ask questions if you need too no matter how silly you may think it is, we have all been there. I find that most nurses are their own worse critic and will beat themselves more emotionally than anyone else could. So remember be gentle with yourself, take a deep breath with a little regrouping when needed and jump in, the ER can be quite the rollercoaster ride. It's exciting to see new nurses excited about their career.

I agree- hang in there, take a deep breath and do the best you can. No question is a dumb one in my book.
