Search local colleges and do not forget community colleges...I am in Sacramento Ca...but we have a community college that offers an great RN refresher course that also has a clinical component...lots of things have changed since you have been out of the field including new CPR and ACLS recommendations and computer charting...to name just a few...potential employers will look more favorably upon you if you have taken the time to update your skills...perhaps someone in your area can tell you if there is such a thing in your area

I have my RN license from the state of Florida for the past 5
years.But here is my story.
I have my Bachelors in nursing and masters in maternity nursing
degrees from India with 3 years of work experience in the field of
nursing education.After I came to US(Orlando,FL) I took the NCLEX exam(2003) and
got my RN license. But I never worked in US, since I had to stay
at home to take care of my kids. Now I want to prepare myself to achieve my goal of
becoming a Lactation Consultant ultimately since maternity nursing is my passion and I love that line of work.
Are there any courses offered in Orlando FL to reach my goal in a step by step fashion?
OR
Should I have to start working in the field of maternity nursing
before I take any courses to achieve my goal? But it will be difficult for me to find a job since I'm out of work for these many years. So what should I do now?Ideally I would love to take some courses to work towards my goal.
I also would like to know about telephone nursing jobs.
Your help and detailed suggestions will be highly appreciated and thanks in advance.
