Please Help!! Need some help with making my decision

Hey guys, I am seeking by BSN through the accelerated route as I have a BS degree in Biology. AI have been accepted to University of New England and Georgetown. I am waiting to hear from MUSC and George Washington. Does anyone have some insight into these programs? Georgetown is very expensive from what I have heard, is it worth it?

Congrats as your begin your journey through nursing school! I did an accelerated program, too, and loved it. My contention is that school prepares you mostly to pass the NCLEX. Sure, you learn things in clinical and everything, but it's so very different compared to when you start working as a nurse. My advice would be to pick the least expensive and accredited program. When you interview for jobs, it is very unlikely that the nurse manager is going to ask where you went to school. Same thing with patients, they don't care where you went to school or what your GPA was; they only care that you are are a safe and competent nurse who has a genuine interest in their health care.

If you're paying for it yourself.....go to the least expensive route. Trust me.

I live in an area close to U of MD and Johns Hopkins, I have never had a patient ask me where I went to nursing school. I paid my way all through my ADN, BSN and MSN programs and it has never made a difference in my practice or where I worked. Do the best that you can for yourself without going into a lot of debt. There probably are some very excellent nursing programs out there, but in the end it is the same NCLEX that we pass.
