Please help! i need advice again!!

If you're not necessarily seeking job security right now, try a nursing agency. You can try a LTC facility. But, I suspect you may be more challenged in a hospital environment at this point.

I don't think a nursing agency is going to provide you with what you need right now. You mention that you have less than a year experience. Nursing agencies place you in positions that usually provide only a cursory orientation and you are expected to hit the ground running. As a relatively new nurse and especially being new to the US, this would not be good for you or the patients.

Some hospitals have special programs for nursing grads. You could try to find one of these or you could just apply to open staff nurse positions. Many times the job description may say that experience is required or preferred, but it doesn't mean that you won't get the job. If you are really worried about it, just apply to general med-surg positions. Of course, if you want to work in LTC, then go ahead and apply. LTC facilities are always looking for RNs. Good luck!

I am in the same situation as you...and I have to agree that it can be frustrating at times because a lot of hospitals do post that they would like at least one year experience:( I applied online last week to one new grad program. I waited for about a month because HR told me in person that I could not give them a paper application and resume -- can only apply online and in addition, I couldn't apply without an opening! I am still waiting for a call back....

There are a lot of hospitals now that have new grad programs -- try to keep an eye out for those. You may have to wait for a few weeks to months, as there are a lot of new grads at this time (lots of June grads)... One thing to keep in mind -- some hospitals like their new grads to have no experience at all...I'll keep you posted about possible openings...are you just interested in hospitals around your area?

What ever you do....do not start out in a nursing home!!!!!!!!!!!! It may very well end your desire for a nursing career!!!! Find a local hospital that will offer the best new gradutation nurse orientation package and stick it out for one year ........at least. The skills you will learn as it relates to acute care nursing will be critical in the direction you will be able to go.
