This is a really outdated question, but still good to know, I suppose.
gr is an abbreviation for grain. Grains are a weight-based measurement that we very rarely use in the United States. ii is the roman numeral abbreviation for 2. So gr ii = 2 grains.
For conversion purposes, one grain = 60 mg.
So your question really reads like this: The nurse receives an order to administer phenobarbital (luminal) 120 mg PO to a 3 year old child. The label n the multi dose vial read 160 mg/ 5 cc. How many cc of phenobarbital should the nurse administer?
You should be able to calculate the answer based on your standard med math formula.
