6 lbs x 16 ounces/lb = 96 ounces in 6 lbs. Plus 5 ounces = 101 ounces.
101 ounces x 28 grams/ounce = 2828.
Generally, nurses approximate an ounce as equal to 30 grams or 30 milliliters if it's a fluid, but the correct value is actually 28.
If you did something that came out close to 2828 but not exactly the same, I would not worry about it. For example, here's another way to do the calculation:
6 and 5/16 lbs = 6.3125 lbs. Times 454 grams/lb = 2865 grams.
The differences are due to rounding error. An ounce isn't exactly 28 grams, it's 28 point something, and a pound is 454 point something grams. If you got the first two digits right, that should be close enough.

Can someone please help me with this ques. The baby weighs 6 pound and 5 onces. How many gms do they weigh. the answer 2828 gms. When I work this problem out my answer is close but not exact, I dont know what Im doing wrong.
