Hello all. I just finished my final in microbiology and unfortunately it looks like I may get a C which would be my second C in prereqs. I have no problem taking this class over but according to the director of Holy Family program even with meeting the GPA requirements I would have no chance of being accepted into the program. Has there not been anyone ever in the history of the program thats had more than one C?! The thing is I don't mind taking the class over but he says I cannot do that, I'm really not sure why. I never took any other course over. Please someone help with options. I cannot go to any big name school bc I don't have the money. Please!

They seem to be pretty strict on their guidelines. I actually graduated with a 3.0 for my undergrad, but since I took a class over at a separate university, my previous college's cumulative GPA looks lower than it truly is. I was pretty much instantly denied, which was understandable. I also know their class size is really small, so it's super competitive. And a passing grade for most nursing schools now is 77% and above, so I can see why they would not accept more than one C in your pre-reqs. They're definitely not going to budge on that. But if you haven't taken any of the pre-req classes more than once, I don't know why you wouldn't be eligible if you take it again, since the site clearly states that. Did you ask him why or for further explanation?

Hi Kelly, are they only looking at GPA for these classes: (4) BIOL 206/L: Microbiology, (4) BIOL 207/L: Anatomy and Physiology I, (4) BIOL 208/L: Anatomy and Physiology II, (3) NURS 206: Nutrition, (3) MATH 130: Elementary Statistics? I have all B's in those classes and i have C in Chemistry, but i believe Don said they dont need Chemistry? My overall GPA is 3.8 and 3.0 for pre-reqs (only those classes that i mentioned above)? HELP :)
I answered you in the other thread :) You don't need Chem for this program, but I did take Chem 1, in order to take Anatomy and Physiology I. However, it doesn't factor into the pre-reqs for Holy Family.
