Hi. Im currently taking up Nursing at Perpetual Help College Manila. here's my story:

I finish HS in the States and when we had our yearly vacay, i told my parents that i wanna study here instead. FEU was my last resort. Bec UST and UP told me that they only do exams once a year.

2004-2005, was my freshman year as a BSN- ASHE student in Far Eastern University

2005-2006, my sophomore year.. but sadly, i failed Health Care 1 and my choices were to shift or to transfer or to stay and wait for 1 whole year (* bec FEU only offers HC1 during the 1st semester). So what i did was i stayed there for another semester, without any major subjects and just when i was to enroll for the summer class, the Dean informed us that they wont be accepting us anymore, i mean we can still enroll and take Health Care 1 and 2. And even if we passed the battery exam, we still wont be able to make it to the Institute of Nursing (3rd year to 4th year) So itransferred to PHCM.

2006-2007, this school year is the worst, ever! The begining of my 1st semester was ok, but then i got sick and i was Insomiac for no reasons why. So i started to miss my classes and my professors eventually decided to have me dropped. On all of my subjects =(. I had no choice. Come 2nd sem ( present), I had to take health care 1 again for the 3rd time ( shame:o ). Everything was doing so well. After our midterm exam, they showed us our grades and i got a 2(85%-90%) in my RLE but a 4 ( 70%) on my LECTURE. =( and right now, im not really sure if ill be able to make it. My prof in my lecture class talked to me about it, and he said that he cant do anything about it. Even if i aced my RLE, my grade in LEC will still pull it down.

That's why ive thought about transferring again ( bec it seems like i have no future in PHCM). My friends suggested that i should try UDMC or ST. Jude College, but my cousins told me that i wont learn anything from those schools. Another choice i had was Arellano Univ., the alma mater of my mom. I went there yesterday and i requested for the Course Curriculum, and the requirements for transferees. Im planning on transferring this summer.

Now, i just want to have some feedbacks re AU. I dont wanna get stucked at PHCM. The prof there are corrupted, there was a time when one of my prof approached me and she asked me if i could buy here some MAX FACTOR makeups:angryfire . She even told me that i dont have to attend her class anymore as long as i give her gifts!!! Aside from being corrupted, some of them are also perverts!!!:angryfire

Upon entering AU this summer, ill still be a sophomore student :uhoh21: . And ill take HC1 (2st sem) again. My mom told me that it doesnt matter if im already 23 by the time i graduate AS LONG AS I GRADUATE. I just wanna ask about your opinions re AU. I dont want keep on transferring to diff schools. I want this to be my last one. Please share your opinions, i am really desperate!!

hmmmm...sounded like you are having a tough time in school? do you really want to pursue nursing? if you are loosing sleep, maybe you need to have a break from school...? are you depressed? it looked like you are taking basic nursing classes, but you are drowning, and higher level nsg classes are much much harder...did you ask yourself why you are not making the grade? maybe you need to change school, a new environment...it doesn't matter if it's not a top nsg school, but a school that will help you learn and will make you not only a better nurse, but a better person. Nsg is a tough profession, and it does require full attention, hardwork, and you need to be ready for class, and take care of your patients. Your mother is right..even if you are 23 y/o by the time you graduate, then thats the bottomline. just to let you know, I also came from 4 nsg schools: 2 in the Philippines, and 2 colleges here in the U.S...I started when I was 17, yet I just got my BSN in the Philippines when I was already 33! guess what? I am so glad that I forced myself to study hard and get that degree! You are very lucky because you have all the resources and everything, so all you have to do is use that..and you will get that degree...keep on studying, and take care of yourself, Goodluck!

Im really so sorry for your dilemna. Finding a new school is tough specially in the Philippines. A lot of the schools mass produce nurses. Sad to say there is no QC anymore. Im an alumni of UST. Im not in a position to say that its the best school for you but here is what I learned there...BE ASSERTIVE TO LEARN...it doesnt matter what school you graduated from, what matters is, that you have the desire to learn irregardless.

By the way, Fundamentals of Nursing is really the basis of your whole nursing career...if you have failed the course on your 3rd try, you may want to consider another career path. Im sorry, Im not trying to be mean.

This is off topic, based on your age I think you belong to batch '92. A friend, a co-worker of mine in the facility belongs to that batch and a UST alumnus.

I dont mean to be rude but I think the problem is you not of the school you need to study harder if you you really want to have a degree its not good to be transferring from another school to another one just because you did not make it from that school. What good will it do it you dont help your self to improve you have to be responsible to do your part as a student otherwise go back to the states and do odd jobs or take some short courses if that is what you are capable of.
