Hello,
I'm a OH rn who took care of a patient whose daughter is a RN working at Pitt. She was telling our staff about how wonderful everything is there and mentioned that the base pay and overtime was great and the perks for picking up overtime were just as wonderful. She painted such a grand picture. I was wondering how much of it was BS. She said base pay was 40-50/hr and that there is overtime at 2.5 times base and if you negotiated with them they'd throw in a gift or gas card for 50-100 dollars.
Any truth? What is the real deal?
Thanks

I live in FL now but am from NC and unless they've tripled salaries from the time I left that's not true.
The perks for working OT when they are crtically short and on the phone begging you to work might be true. Many places have bonuses.
Thanks for the reply...I look forward to more of them.
