Plan to be travel RN in the NYC area.

Help! I'm in the process of starting a travel career, the first place I plan to get my feet wet is Tulsa, OK as it is 4 hours away from my current home. My biggest concerns for travel to the NYC area is housing, so far I am unable to find monthly rates on extended stay hotels in the area and dont know if a furnished apartment would be cheaper. Are there in nurses in the area that have thoughts or nurses who have traveled to area who can share their stories. I have searched for others experiences but a lot of posts are from quite a few years back.

Are you talking about taking a travel assignment in NY or moving here because if its a travel assignment the company usually supply the housing. Most assignments are 13 wks and its hard to get short term housing but the travel co has the experience of doing so. In the mean time I would work on getting your NY license and taking the child abuse and infection control tests as required by NY state BON.
