Placement Test Question

Hi Ladies,

I have a question I am hoping someone can help me with. I never took Chemistry in high school and I failed Algebra by one point in high school as well. I am an LPN now for 16 years and got a 3.2 GPA. I am thinking about going back for my RN and I am looking into taking the pre-reqs at a local community college (RACC). I know you have to take a placement test before enrolling. Does anyone know if I would do excellent on the Chemistry and Algebra part of the placement test, do I still have to take the courses or can I move on with other courses?

Thank you for your help!!

Alice, LPN

We still had to take both unless we had college credit for both those classes. If we did poorly on the algebra portion of the test then we were required to take pre-algebra and pass with a C before we could move on to college algebra.

Some classes we were allowed to CLEP out of so you might check and see which ones are allowed at your school.

Good luck to you, I hope this helps
