has anyone gone through this program? i was offered a job and accepted it- no paperwork signed yet, though, because they are waiting for my test date. i didn't really know anything about the program, i just was applying hoping to get any job. i'm excited about it but don't know what to expect. i know there are classes on top of working regular shift hours but does all that take up most days of the week or is it not so bad?? i've only heard through another girl at school that a friend of hers was in residency program in utah or somewhere and she hated it because it took up soooo much of her time that she was too busy to do anything else. does anyone know firsthand how the piedmont program works?? thanks!
really?? no one has worked at piedmont?? that's hard to believe. anyone...?

good morning!!
how is everything going? i have a few questions for you since you just started with piedmont. my goal is to apply for the icu new grad program and i would like to get some information. how was the icu new grad program for you? was it everything you expected? what are some things that you wished you did differently or prepared before and during the program? how many started and ended the program with you? which icu do you work in? any advice??

Never worked for Piedmont, but the nurses I know that have, liked working there.
Starting your first job will be loads of stress, and with critical care they want to make sure you know what you're doing before you're let loose. Free education that you get paid for is a good thing. If it takes up some of your time (you'll be getting paid), so what? There are lots of places that don't take the time to make sure their new grads get the orientation and support they need to practice safely and effectively. Be grateful that you both have a job and have a job that is investing in you.
I don't know because I've never worked in the Piedmont ICU, but, based on what I've heard I think you'll have a good experience.
Thank you,
It's so hard to choose an area for leadership. I am in OB rotation right now and I love it.
