PICOT Question Assistance

Greetings everyone!

I need help with a PICOT Question. (Constructive criticism accepted.)

The topic I selected evaluates the health risks & outcomes of IVF twins compared to naturally conceived twins. 

So far, this is the PICOT question I constructed: 

"For couples attempting to become pregnant, is there evidence that suggests IVF twins cause pregnancy complications during birth compared to naturally conceived twins?"

I really appreciate any help you can provide.?

For PICOT questions, you really want to ask a specific question. I would leave out "is there evidence that suggests". You want a PICOT that is specific and measurable to support your research.

P - population - couples attempting to become pregnant

I - intervention - IVF conception

C - comparison - natural conception

O - outcome - gestational complications

T - time - ??

So, you have a very broad "question". What specifically are you looking to answer? Is it a particular IVF method causing the complications? A particular IVF medication prior to harvesting eggs? Do you mean complications that are life threatening to the mother? Complications such as preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, placenta previa or abruptio, etc., as compared to non-IVF pregnancies? Are you including fetal or neonate complications?

Think about what you specifically want to prove or disprove with your research. That should help you narrow down your actual PICO question.
