Physical Assessment Course

Hello friends,

I'm looking to obtain employment in a hospital after working 6 months in long term care.

Some of the hospitals post a requirement of completing a physical assessment course, however I'm not sure where to go about finding one.

I'm located in the Ottawa Area/ Ontario, any advice is appreciated!

Physical/health assessments have been a part of Canadian nursing programs for many decades, but some past programs did not have them as separate stand alone courses. Also, if a nurse's work experience was/is in a speciality area, they may be experienced with the assessments and histories that pertain to that speciality, but not experienced with whole body assessments (if you don't use it, you lose it). Proof of a recent course assures employers that your skills are up-to-date.
