hi everyone, ok so heres the deal.. i was in a program in jersey for medical assiting/phebotomy tec, graduated, and moved to ny.. passed both certificate exams but for the phlebotomy exam i never finished the required amount of sticks.. so i wanted to know if anyone in the NYC area knows if i would be able to compete sticks at a hospital or a blood bank, and if they would be able to send those documents to NCCT. i would just go back to the jersey school but there policy is if u havent stuck for a month you cant do any sticks, and also im in a nursing program so i really wouldnt have anytime to go to jersey....
---- any insight or help is greatly appreciiated!!

I would contact an in home laboratory company in your area, quest or any other private lab company and ask if your can precep with a phlebotomist that would allow you to perfoem some lab collections with them. You would of course have to sign some type of form that states you are there on your own, releasing them of any responsibility for you. Let them know upfront you would need a short letter with a signature stating that you did perform the venipunctures. Hospitals are really picky about having a non employee perfoming anything on anyone in their hospitals today due to lawsuits.
Thanks ima call quest!!
